Tailored support for identifying and obtaining financing for climate adaptation projects
Under the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, Charter Signatories can receive dedicated support to bring their adaptation projects closer to securing financing.
One of the Mission’s objectives is to support regions and communities in moving from planning to implementation by advancing concrete adaptation projects. Access to financing is a key enabler of this transition.
As part of the second phase of the Mission Implementation Platform, running from January 2026 to June 2028, tailored support is available to help adaptation projects progress to a stage where they are ready to secure investment.
The focus of this support is to strengthen project maturity, improve financial structuring and facilitate engagement with potential financiers.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to Mission Charter Signatories.
What support is available?
Support is tailored to the stage of development and specific needs of each project. Depending on project maturity, assistance may include:
- Development of the project concept
- Quantification of project costs and benefits
- Support with the development of a project financing strategy
- Support to develop documents to present to financiers
- Help in identifying and contacting potential financiers
Format of the support
A tailored work plan outlining the proposed content, delivery formats, and timeline will be developed based on the specific needs of each applicant. Support will be delivered remotely and, where possible, in the official national language.
Please review the guidance document for full details.
Applications are open until 17th April 2026. You can apply using the link below.
