Mission Community

The EU Mission Adaptation Community is a dynamic engagement platform that brings together Europe’s key actors working on climate change adaptation. It is a shared space for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, designed to strengthen the links between research, policy, and practice and to empower European regions and communities in building resilience to climate change by 2030.

Members

The EU Mission Adaptation Community connects a diverse and growing network of members, including regional and local authorities that are Charter Signatories, Mission Projects and regions and local authorities participating in their implementation, the European Commission and other relevant European institutions, national authorities, and Friends of the Mission. By bringing these groups together in one place, the EU Mission Adaptation Community enables meaningful collaboration across governance levels and sectors. 

Benefits

By joining the Community, you will be able to: 

• Connect with Regional and Local Authorities (RLAs), Mission Projects, experts, private sector organisations, and other key actors in climate adaptation.  
• Engage with Thematic Working Groups and take part in collaborative exchanges.
• Stay informed and contribute to community activities, including events, resources, and discussions on adaptation.
• Contribute to and benefit from the Roster of Experts.
• Build alliances and partnerships for new projects and initiatives, and contribute to replicate and upscale approaches, tools and/or solutions, and strengthen impact on practice and policy.
• Co-develop shared documents to showcase good practices and enhance visibility and reputation
• Connect with the European Commission and Mission Implementation Platform (MIP4Adapt) to gain first-hand information on opportunities.  
• Participate in structured spaces for dialogue and coordination.

Online EU Mission Adaptation Community

The online EU Mission Adaptation Community, available in all EU languages, is open to any organisation committed to developing climate resilience. It offers a space to learn, connect, and take action. Members can stay informed about news, events and resources, share their experiences of climate adaptation, engage with Mission Projects and the private sector, join discussions, and apply to become an expert on the Roster of Experts or request a connection with a member of the Roster.

Events

The EU Mission Adaptation Community offers a wealth of resources, capacity-building events, matchmaking opportunities, and spaces of collaboration, to promote mutual learning with peers across Europe. Through monthly thematic topics, the EU Mission Adaptation Community organises dedicated events and workshops that tackle Europe’s most pressing climate adaptation challenges, encouraging practical exchanges on real-world solutions, tools, and strategies from regions and local authorities, Mission Projects, and leading experts.
