This event has ended.
Climate-related hazards are becoming more frequent and more severe across Europe, with implications that vary across European regions depending on their risk profiles and capacity to anticipate and manage them.
This event centres around two main themes: disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation. Drawing from the CARMINE and CLIMAAX projects’ activities, evidence from European regions will be discussed in the context of relevant international frameworks. The event objectives are listed as follows:
- Connect the experience of European regions to the international policy frameworks, namely the Sendai Framework and the UNFCCC adaptation process.
- Contribute a science-informed perspective to the conversation on the post-2030 disaster risk reduction agenda.
- Highlight the CARMINE and CLIMAAX project complementary activities and results, showcasing convergence in disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation
