CANCELLATION UPDATE: Following careful consideration of the evolving circumstances in the Middle East, the Mission management has taken the difficult decision to cancel the Mission Forum as initially planned in Cyprus this May. This reflects both the increasing uncertainty surrounding travel and participation, as well as the desire to ensure the event can take place under conditions that allow for broad representation and inclusive engagement. We are currently exploring the possibility of hosting the Forum at an alternative location in the Autumn of this year and will issue further information soon.
The Fifth Forum for the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change will take place on 28 May 2026 in Nicosia, Cyprus, under the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
As climate challenges intensify across Europe, the Forum will highlight practical, replicable and scalable adaptation solutions already making a difference on the ground. Participants will explore innovative tools developed through Mission Projects, take part in collaborative discussions to shape locally relevant solutions, and connect with peers from across sectors and governance levels.
Pre-Forum activities
A series of activities will take place on 27 May, including site visits across Nicosia showcasing regional responses to climate risks. A dedicated Pre Forum workshop for the Mission Community of Practice will be held in the afternoon, followed by an evening networking reception for all participants.
