The objective of this Green Deal Projects Support Office (GD-SO) webinar is to advance the discussion on citizen science from experimentation to deployment and impact. It will bring together EU-funded projects, policy actors and practitioners to examine how successful citizen science pilots, which operated in various fields of application, can be scaled up, sustained over time, and better connected to European and global policy processes.

Building on concrete experiences from projects such as AURORA and PS Lifestyle and on emerging global initiatives, the webinar aims to identify the main technical, governance, financial and institutional barriers to continuity and scaling, and to explore practical pathways to transform short-term project results into durable, policy-relevant infrastructures for citizen-powered climate and environmental action.
The webinar will draw on the Policy Brief Citizen Science and EU Regulations - a new approach (published in December 2024) as well as on the Citizen Science Global Partnership - Charter for Citizen Science and Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
