Co-organised by the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Thematic Working Group, UNDERPIN and MIP4Adapt, this event is a collaborative session for regional and local authorities to discuss various aspects of developing the proposed monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) tools.
The session will use a highly participatory format. Following an initial presentation of the current status of adaptation monitoring, participants will proceed to breakout rooms where regional and local representatives can actively contribute to the design and development of the framework, its visualisation and use dashboard, and the pan-European testing approach. The insights gathered will directly contribute to a framework for measuring adaptation progress across the EU, ensuring it remains compatible with the EU Adaptation Strategy and the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change.
The interactive workshop is structured around three themes explored in breakout rooms.
- Breakout room 1: Developing meaningful indicators for adaptation outcomes and resilience.
- Breakout room 2: Designing useful dashboards and visualisation tools for adaptation monitoring.
- Breakout room 3: Making adaptation monitoring frameworks relevant and usable for regional and local authorities.
Key results and findings will be shared and discussed in a closing plenary session.
