This interactive matchmaking event brings together regions, local authorities and research and innovation stakeholders to foster collaboration and support the development of strong project proposals for the 2026 EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change calls.

The event focuses on two key topics under the 2026 Mission Work Programme:
HORIZON-MISS-2026-01-CLIMA-05: Demonstrating solutions to protect and preserve cultural heritage from the impacts of climate change
HORIZON-MISS-2026-06-CLIMA-SOIL: Joint demonstration of solutions to build soil resilience to extreme weather events and support food security
As these topics are centred on demonstration projects, they typically require the involvement of diverse actors, including research organisations, universities, networks, public authorities and other stakeholders. The event provides a dedicated space to explore new partnerships, strengthen connections and engage with organisations interested in contributing to these demonstration efforts.
Participants will take part in interactive breakout sessions to align regional needs with the interests and expertise of research and innovation actors. Regions will have the opportunity to present their climate adaptation challenges and specific needs, while R&I stakeholders will be able to express interest in these and explore collaboration opportunities that support innovative and place-based solutions.
To continue supporting collaboration beyond the event, a database of participating regions, highlighting their project interests and challenges, will be shared within the Mission’s network. This resource is intended to streamline consortium-building and promote effective cooperation across Europe.
By bringing together diverse actors, the event seeks to accelerate collective progress toward a more climate-resilient future.
