Connecting Expertise with Action: The Mission Launches its Roster of Experts

The EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change has officially launched the Mission’s Roster of Experts (RoE), providing Mission Community members with access to a growing network of climate adaptation specialists from across Europe.

The Roster has been created to help Regional and Local Authorities (RLAs), Mission Projects and other members of the Mission Community connect with experts who can provide technical insights, share experiences and support local adaptation efforts. 

The experts featured in the Roster represent a diverse range of disciplines, sectors and geographic regions, covering key climate adaptation themes and bringing expertise from research, policy and practice. 

The primary purpose of the Roster is to expand the knowledge of the EU Mission Adaptation Community through knowledge sharing and problem‑solving. The roster does not constitute a contractual framework, a funding mechanism, a formal advisory body, or a matchmaking tool for paid services. Mission Community members can use the Roster to: 

• Identify experts relevant to their adaptation challenges and priorities. 
• Access opportunities for technical advice tailored to their needs. 
• Connect with experts in relevant sectors, themes or regions to share experiences, exchange knowledge and explore potential collaborations. 

To ensure a simple and transparent process, individuals or organisations interested in connecting with an expert are invited to submit a short request form outlining their needs. The MIP4Adapt team will review the request and facilitate an initial introduction between the requester and the relevant expert. 

Following this introduction, any further discussions or collaboration will take place directly between the expert and the requesting organisation.  

The Mission will continue to expand the Roster of Experts over time to strengthen thematic, sectoral and geographic coverage and ensure that the expertise available reflects the evolving needs of Regional and Local Authorities (RLAs) and climate adaptation practitioners across Europe.

If you are not already a member, you can register your interest in joining the Community here. Please ensure you have registered for the Community before completing the forms to apply to the RoE or request a connection with an expert, as submissions from non-members will not be considered.  

Once your membership of the Community has been approved, the “Roster of Experts” page on Futurium will give you access to:  

• The application form to join the Roster of Experts. 
• The form to request a connection with an expert.
