Slovakia, with a continental climate shaped by cold winters, warm summers, and extensive mountain and forest areas, is strengthening climate resilience through active engagement in the Mission. A total of 9 local and regional authorities are participating in Mission Projects, supported by 5 Charter Signatories (regions/local authorities that have signed the Mission Charter and committed to striving toward climate resilience by 2030), and €4.23 million in EU funding has been allocated.

AdaptationHubs boosts coordination on climate adaptation, while helping national and local governments to share solutions and strengthen their approaches to managing climate risks.
The Slovak National Adaptation Hub (NAH) is being developed as a platform to strengthen cross-sectoral and multi-level cooperation on climate change adaptation. It builds on existing governance structures and reflects current and upcoming national strategic documents, including adaptation strategies and action plans.

Climate Adaptation Platforms (CAPs) are national, regional, and local web-based hubs offering datasets, evidence-based information, tools, and case studies to drive climate resilience.
They contribute directly to the Mission by providing access to national, regional, and local climate datasets, evidence-based information and guidance, as well as practical tools and case studies to support adaptation action. Each CAP is tailored to the country, region or community that it serves to support the design and implementation of adaptation strategies and plans.
Many CAPs foster peer-to-peer learning. They also act as gateways for regional and local authorities to engage with wider initiatives and, thereby, align their actions with national and EU priorities.

With tailored support from the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, Košice, Slovakia is developing nature-based solutions, engaging citizens, and advancing funding-ready projects that respond to local climate risks.
Collaboration with national forestry enterprises in Bulgaria and Slovakia ensures that climate-smart forestry measures are embedded in updated planning documents at local, national, and EU levels. Demonstration sites provide spaces for awareness-raising and knowledge exchange.
