Description
Catalonia has been continuously affected by climate and extreme weather events such as floods, heatwaves, wildfires, and droughts. Civil Protection plays a crucial role in providing action plans and coordinating resources in natural risk disaster management. Within the RESIST project, Catalonia proposes solutions specialised in (pre)emergency management, including decision-support digital tools, inclusive risk communication, and citizen participation aiming to enhance capacity building in natural risk awareness and proactive preparedness for emergency management due to extreme weather and climate risks. Together, these technological and social innovations form a coherent, replicable model for a transformative change that reshapes how emergency management, institutions, such as Civil Protection agencies and communities work together to build stronger climate resilience.
