Description

The region advances nature-based water and stormwater management solutions, including measures that enhance natural water retention and improve runoff quality. These solutions are tested in three pilot areas: Rauvolanlahti, Oriketo, and the Savijoki catchment, where the project demonstrates watershed-level stormwater planning and rural water management approaches.

Through these pilots, RESIST promotes the use of wetlands, restored streams, and other nature-based practices that support both climate resilience and ecosystem health. The project also produces guidance materials and develops tools to support natural stormwater management while strengthening cooperation among local stakeholders. Knowledge sharing across regions helps build capacity and ensures that best practices are widely adopted in Southwest Finland.
